Today I decided to spruce up our normal breakfast routine with a little homemade creation! I made whole wheat pancakes for breakfast, but instead of using our raw local honey to top it off, I made strawberry syrup. I came up with the recipe off the cuff and it came out absolutely delish! I even asked my little one to help and she did an amazing job, when she wasn't eating the ingredients. The recipe is listed below. I hope you enjoy it...
Ingredients:
-1 cup of strawberries (fresh or thawed out frozen)
-1/4 cup of honey (or more to your liking) -1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon -1/2 teaspoon of vanilla
Preparation:
Combine all ingredients into the blender. Blend on high speed for about a minute until completely combined, with no chunks of strawberry left. Serve immediately and refrigerate the left overs for later. The leftovers can also be used in your smoothies!
